FROM THE HEAD COACH
"This football program has the opportunity to write a special story. We could ascend to compete for championships on the field while utilizing football to transform the lives of student-athletes off the field. We each share the power to contribute toward that collective destiny."
Blane Tetreault

PROGRAM UPDATES
TEAM COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Our football program is starting a new tradition called Neighborhood Clean-Up Day. Players, coaches, and members of the Touchdown Club will clean-up litter found on or near streets, sidewalks, and parks in the neighborhoods adjacent to East High School. In addition, residents have the opportunity to request assistance with tasks such as moving heavy objects, yardwork for those physically limited, and more.
Neighborhood Clean-Up Day will be held on Sunday, May 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. Here is a map of the 2025 clean-up area boundaries. Here is a link for residents to request assistance. Requests must be submitted by May 16.
Due to the potential volume of requests, we cannot guarantee the completion of your task(s), but we will do our best to accommodate your request. Email head football coach Blane Tetreault at dulutheastfootballcoach@gmail.com with questions.

The full Varsity, Junior Varsity, and C-Team schedules can be found here.

FOOTBALL FAMILY MEETING
The annual Football Family Meeting was held on May 1 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the East High School auditorium. Players (currently in grades 8 thru 11) and their parents/guardians attended. During the meeting, the coaching staff reviewed the summer and fall practice schedules, off-season workout opportunities, updates about the football program, and other important topics. Following is information from that meeting:

TOUCHDOWN CLUB SPRING MIXER
East High School and youth football parents/guardians are invited to the 1st Annual Touchdown Club Spring Mixer, Monday, May 12 at 6 p.m. at The Other Place Bar & Grill. This event is an opportunity to support the football program while building relationships with the booster club and other parents/guardians. The RSVP deadline has passed for this event. Please email the Touchdown Club at dulutheasttouchdownclub@gmail.com if you are interested in attending. We look forward to seeing you there! P.S. This event is NOT for players.

SUMMER PRACTICE DATES
The MSHSL allows football programs to conduct 11 summer practices. Here are our summer practice dates for 2025 so you can do your best to avoid scheduling activities, vacations, etc. during these dates:
June 23, 24, 25
July 14, 15, 16, 17
July 21, 22, 23, 24
The practices will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at East High School. They will include team/positional meetings, Hound Power strength and speed sessions, and practices where players will learn our schemes and position-specific techniques.
We expect all players who will be in grades 9 thru 12 in fall 2025 to participate in these practices. These are important opportunities to improve both our team and the abilities of each player.
If a player is unable to participate in a practice due to extenuating circumstances, they should inform the head coach of the absence prior to the practice.
We will not participate as a team in the UMD football camp this summer. However, there are many good individual camps in which players can participate.

TOUCHDOWN CLUB & PARENT/GUARDIAN/ALUMNI VOLUNTEERING
In order for our football program to fulfill it's potential, we must create a culture where our players, parents, coaches, alumni, and other stakeholders regularly engage with each other. We must establish relationships with our peers that motivate the actions necessary for us to succeed. This can't only exist during the season; it should be year-round.
A good way for parents to start building these relationships is through the Touchdown Club. This is our booster club which supports our football program through fundraising and event management. Learn more about the Touchdown Club here. Then, attend a meeting to become an active participant.
The Touchdown Club provides opportunities for parents, guardians, and alumni to be active participants in the football program. It takes a village for us to accomplish our goal of providing a transformative experience for our student-athletes. Committing as little as one hour per month to a committee (here are existing committees) enables participants to impact the program.
Please complete this form if you are willing to participate in a committee.

JOIN BAND: OUR TEAM COMMUNICATIONS APP
In an effort to provide more direct and immediate communications with our players, coaches, and families, we have decided to use Band as a communications tool.
Band is a phone app that enables the coaching staff to communicate schedule updates, bus departure/arrival times, event info, and more in real time. Both players and families should join Band.
Click this link to join Band. You will need to download the Band app from the app store.
